Senior Dispatcher — Flatbed Specialist

About the Role

Northstar Carriers is a specialized flatbed and oversize carrier with 80 trucks operating throughout the upper Midwest and Mountain West. We need a Senior Dispatcher who knows flatbed inside and out — securing permits, managing oversize moves, and keeping our drivers safe and productive.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch 20–25 flatbed and oversize drivers across Midwest and Mountain West lanes
• Coordinate permitting for oversize and overweight loads
• Manage escort car scheduling for superload movements
• Negotiate spot and contract rates with brokers and direct shippers
• Ensure all loads meet securement and safety regulations

Requirements

• ✓4+ years of flatbed dispatching experience
• ✓Working knowledge of oversize permit requirements by state
• ✓Experience with specialized equipment (step decks, double drops, RGNs)
• ✓Familiarity with width, height, and weight limit regulations
• ✓Strong carrier and broker network in the Midwest
