Drayage Dispatcher

About the Role

Harbor Freight Solutions operates one of the busiest drayage fleets at the Port of Long Beach. We are looking for an experienced Drayage Dispatcher who understands port operations, container availability, and the urgency of per diem and demurrage avoidance.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch 30+ container drivers at the Port of Long Beach daily
• Monitor container availability and coordinate chassis needs
• Track per diem clocks and prioritize pickups to avoid demurrage charges
• Communicate with steamship lines, terminals, and importers
• Manage appointment scheduling across multiple port terminals

Requirements

• ✓3+ years of drayage or port dispatching experience
• ✓Deep knowledge of Port of Los Angeles / Long Beach terminal operations
• ✓Familiarity with container tracking systems (Maersk, MSC, CMA CGM portals)
• ✓Ability to manage high volumes under strict time pressure
• ✓Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
