Dispatch Operations Manager

About the Role

Velocity Freight is scaling rapidly and needs a Dispatch Operations Manager to lead a team of 12 dispatchers covering intermodal and drayage operations at the Port of Los Angeles. You will own team performance, KPIs, customer relationships, and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 12 freight dispatchers
• Own key performance metrics: on-time delivery, empty miles, cost per load
• Build and maintain relationships with port customers and steamship lines
• Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements
• Collaborate with sales team on new customer onboarding and capacity planning
• Prepare monthly performance reports for executive leadership

Requirements

• ✓5+ years of freight operations experience with 2+ years in management
• ✓Deep understanding of intermodal and drayage operations
• ✓Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams
• ✓Strong data literacy and experience with TMS reporting
• ✓Excellent stakeholder communication skills
